OUR CHILDREN POLICY:
Children 12 months and under are free.
OUR PET POLICY:
Mountain Goat Lodge is very pet friendly as we understand how important it is to travel with your pet, since they are part of the family. That said, if your dog is a chewer or a barker, we ask that you please look elsewhere for accommodations. Please- no UNSOCIALIZED DOGS- that just doesn't work for the other guests and their dogs. Our lodge is very peaceful, with carpeting and furniture that we hope to maintain in good condition for years to come.
There are several items that we bring to your attention before you visit:
Our lodge dog Sookie, is very friendly to people, and tolerant about sharing her domain, but will let your dog know that she is the alpha and is in charge. She is a mini Australian shepherd and Jack Russel mix, and is kind of the boss lady around here! We also have Layla, a livestock guard dog (great pyrenees mix).
Your dog must be house-trained
Outside of our off-leash area, your dog must be on a leash and under your control. We have lots of free-range poultry and want to keep them all.
In respect to our other guests, your dog must not bark in the house, or you may be asked to leave without a refund – this could even occur in the middle of the night, if your dog is keeping other guests awake. While we love and tolerate most all dogs, Management reserves the right to insist that a local boarding kennel be used if excessive barking or disturbances occur.
Your dog must never be left unattended in your room or outside.
Dogs are provided with welcome goodies, dog beds and water bowl.
Any room damages caused by your pet will be assessed and charged to your credit card.
We have a half-acre off-leash dog park for your pet's enjoyment. It is located in front of our parking lot, and is fully fenced. You will find waste-removal site with bags, and water. No unattended dogs as it is near the highway. Please clean up after your pet.
WE PROVIDE sheets to cover your bed if you want your dog up on the bed. Just ask.
No dogs are permitted near the chicken coop or the goat barn. The goats do not want to play with your dog. From a goats’ standpoint, your dog is a predatory wolf, and they have babies to protect.
Our llamas guard the goats and will not tolerate any dogs near the goats.
IMPORTANT WEATHER POLICY:
While we would never insist on risking your safety to get here, COLORADO does get it's share of winter weather. Our cancellation policy will be upheld UNLESS the Department of Transportation closes the routes between your starting point and our town. We will check the DOT website and keep abreast of the latest road closures. Generally speaking HWY 285 and HWY 50 are always open and snowplowed constantly during the winter. Please use caution, drive slowly, we recommend a 4-wheel drive, heavier vehicle to come through the mountain passes. Our lodge is just a bit off the highway so access is never a problem.
